Anxious Patients

Fear is one of the biggest reason people avoid dentists. If you suffer from dental anxiety, you're not alone. Even people who regularly visit their dentist can still feel anxious about their visits.

At Tweed Dental Care, we recognize that a visit to the dentist may cause a lot of anxiety for some people. Our team will do whatever they can to help you feel comfortable and relaxed during your appointment.

We take the time to educate all of our patients on their treatment, so that there are no surprises. We are patient and understanding of your needs and will only proceed with your treatment once you feel ready to. For some of our more anxious patients, we may offer sedation treatments as a option to help make your treatment more comfortable.

At our Tweed dental office we offer a couple sedation options for patients with high dental anxiety, extensive treatment needs and/or a severe gag reflex.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation, is medication that may be easily administered in the form of a liquid or pill. Oral sedatives may be taken the night before your appointment to help you sleep, and taken an hour before your appointment to significantly reduce your anxiety during treatment.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is an inhaled gas that is also available to anxious patients. Since each patient is different, gas levels can be easily adjusted and customized to your treatment needs.
